Anthropic Publishes a New Constitution for Claude
Anthropic released the document guiding Claude's intended behavior under a CC0 license, making its model-governance rationale public.
Anthropic published a new constitution for Claude, describing the values and behavioral goals it wants the model to pursue. The company released the document under Creative Commons CC0, allowing outside researchers and developers to inspect and reuse it.
The move made an ordinarily internal training artifact into a public reference point. It did not guarantee that every model response would meet those goals, Anthropic noted, but it gave users a clearer basis for evaluating the lab's stated approach to safety, helpfulness and boundaries.
