OpenAI announced plans to acquire Promptfoo, an AI security platform used to identify and remediate vulnerabilities in AI systems. It said the technology would be integrated into OpenAI Frontier, its platform for building and operating AI coworkers.
The transaction underscored a market shift from model evaluation as a research activity to evaluation as production infrastructure. As agents gain permissions and tools, red-teaming, regression testing and auditability become part of deployment rather than a final pre-launch checklist.
